Amy – Cattery Owner
Boma is owned and run by Amy, who is a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN). Amy qualified in 2015 and has worked in small animal practice for over 13 years. Since 2015 Amy has gained further qualifications including: City & Guilds Level 4 certificate in Veterinary Nursing for Emergency and Critical Care, BSAVA Veterinary Nursing Merit Award in Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy. Amy continues to practice as a Registered Veterinary Nurse when she can at local Veterinary Practices. In her spare time, she spends time with her family and has a slight obsession with all things Disney.
Paula – Cattery Assistant
Paula has worked with animals for over 17 years, firstly working at the PDSA and then moved onto the Veterinary Nursing career path, firstly working as a receptionist, then working her way up to an Assistant Nurse, which Paula did for several years. In Paula’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and their pets, rescue cockerpoo Lucy, and Minnie the cat who was hand reared from 2 days old when she was orphaned when Paula adopted her. Paula has successfully gained her NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Animal Care
We hope that with this in mind it will give you reassurance that extra special care and attention is provided for all our guests, including those that may have medical conditions or mobility concerns. You can also be reassured that any medication can be administered during your cat’s stay at no extra cost.
Before your cat stays with us, you will have the opportunity to complete an online profile form. This will give us all the information we need to provide a home from home experience for your cat, and ensure we are fully aware of your cats’ individual needs.
Our cattery is located within our lovely quiet garden to the rear of our family home, ensuring a 24-hour presence for the protection and safety of all our guests. The property is also monitored with CCTV and alarms for additional security.
Boma Cattery is a family run boarding establishment operating on a small scale, to ensure all our guests are given the absolute best care and attention. All the rooms are bright, spacious and provide separate sleeping and exercise area. Our rooms can accommodate from 1 cat up to a family of 4 cats from the same household. One of our rooms features an outdoor secure catio for extra paw room and fresh air.
All the rooms at Boma Cattery benefit from air conditioning and heating. We have everything your cat will need; wide easy access viewing platforms, climbing equipment, full length scratching posts, a choice of bedding and sensory toys. We also ensure that our guests have access to enrichment activities and music, as well as daily interaction from us several times a day. We can provide water fountains, temperature regulating sleep pods, and pet cameras.
Boma cattery operates 365 days a year to care for our gusts however, we are only open Monday-Saturday by appointment for checking in and out or visits.
